4) Sonic Drive-In: Sonic Drive-In Restaurants is the next name on this list and has been around since 1953 when it was started in Oklahoma. Franchising since 1959, it has the sixth rank on the Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500 list. It has a total of 3593 locations out which, only 228 are company-owned. It is known for its quick service, delicious fast food menu, and the drive-ins and drive-thrus.

5) Hardee’s: The last name on this list is Hardee’s. It was opened in 1960 and ranks 9th on the Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500 list. It has been franchising its joints since 1962 and has a total of 2,242, restaurants out of which only 118 are company-owned, and 318 are located outside USA. Hardees’ menu is highly popular both in and outside the U.S.A.
